SenzaGen inviger nytt labb på Medicon Village

​I juni flyttar SenzaGen in i sitt nya labb på Medicon Village. I takt med att SenzaGen expanderar, etablerar nya samarbeten och kunder och anställer fler medarbetare, har bolaget ett större behov av att samla verksamheten. Det är ett helt nytt lab utrustat med den senaste teknologin för att genomföra nya tester.

I juni flyttar SenzaGen in i sitt nya labb på Medicon Village. I takt med att SenzaGen expanderar, etablerar nya samarbeten och kunder och anställer fler medarbetare, har bolaget ett större behov av att samla verksamheten. Det är ett helt nytt lab utrustat med den senaste teknologin för att genomföra nya tester.

– De nya labbet innebär ett naturligt steg i SenzaGens kommersialiseringsarbete av det vi har utvecklat här på Immunteknologi. Forskning och utveckling sker fortsatt på LTH, säger Malin Lindstedt, grundare och CSO på SenzaGen.

Invigningen firades med att klippa banden till det nya labbet tillsammans med nya och gamla kollegors så väl som investerare, ägare och samarbetspartners till SenzaGen.

In June, SenzaGen moves into its new lab facilities at Medicon Village in Lund. As SenzaGen is expanding, establishing new partnerships and customers and is hiring more staff, the company has a demand to set up in new premises and gather the business.

The lab is completely new and is equipped with the latest technology to implement the tests.

– The new lab is a natural step in SenzaGen’ss commercialization of what we have developed here at the department of Immunotechnology. Research and development is continuing at LTH, says Malin Lindstedt , founder and CSO of SenzaGen .

The opening of the lab was celebrated with new and old colleagues as well as investors, owners and business partners of SenzaGen.

SenzaGen länsfinalist till SKAPApriset 2015

SenzaGen har vunnit ännu ett pris och nyligen utnämnts till länsfinalist i Skåne och har därmed möjlighet att vinna det nationella innovationspriset SKAPA, landets största och mest prestigefyllda innovationspris. Skapapriset delas ut till innovatörer med syfte att stödja kommersialisering av deras produkter.

SenzaGen har vunnit ännu ett pris och nyligen utnämnts till länsfinalist i Skåne och har därmed möjlighet att vinna det nationella innovationspriset SKAPA, landets största och mest prestigefyllda innovationspris. Skapapriset delas ut till innovatörer med syfte att stödja kommersialisering av deras produkter.

Med basen på Medicon Village i Lund utvecklar och säljer SenzaGen allergentester till framförallt för kosmetika- och kemikaliebranschen. SenzaGens test GARD (Genomic Allergen Rapid Detection) är en alternativ metod för allergitester som eliminerar behovet av djurförsök. GARD bygger på det mänskliga genomet för att klassificera kemikalier, och om och hur dessa framkallar reaktioner i mänskliga celler. Metoden har utvecklats under ett tiotal år och mäter väsentligt fler mänskliga gener än befintliga test på marknaden

  • -Vi ser ett ökat behov av allergitestade och säkrade produkter inom kosmetik och kemikalier. SenzaGens test GARD identifierar potentiella allergener i denna typ av produkter samtidigt som det eliminerar behovet av djurförsök. Skapapriset är en bekräftelse på potentialen i vår produkt och allt fler får upp ögonen för behovet av bättre och säkra produkter, säger Anki Malmborg Hager, VD på SenzaGen.

SenzaGen har utnämnts till länsfinalist i Skåne i SKAPAprisets årliga tävling. Priset delas ut av Stiftelsen SKAPA i samarbete med Almi Företagspartner. Det är de regionala Almi-bolagen i samarbete med lokala uppfinnarföreningar anslutna till Svenska Uppfinnareföreningen som har utsett länsfinalisterna till priset.

Utnämningen innebär att SenzaGen har möjlighet att bli utsedd till svensk mästare i innovationer. Som länsfinalist mottar SenzaGen ett pris värt 25 000 kr med möjlighet att vinna ytterligare 550 000 kr (maximalt fördelat på tre pristagare) om de utses till nationell vinnare.

  • -SenzaGen har paketerat avancerad forskning på ett tydligt, kommersiellt sätt och har på kort tid visat att man på ett signifikant sätt kan minimera andelen djurförsök väsentligt, och dessutom leverera ytterligare mervärden till olika kundgrupper. Tävlingen avgörs den 5 november 2015 på årets upplaga av mässan Eget Företag i Stockholm. Prisutdelningen äger rum på den stora Innovationsgalan samma kväll.

SenzaGen has won yet another award and was recently appointed the provincial finalist in Skåne and will thereby have the opportunity to win the national innovation award SKAPA, the country's largest and most prestigious innovation prize. The SKAPA Prize is awarded to innovators in order to support the commercialization of their products.

The prize is awarded by the Foundation SKAPA in cooperation with ALMI. It is the regional ALMI companies in cooperation with local inventors' associations affiliated to the Swedish Inventors Association which has chosen the county finalists for the award.

The appointment means that SenzaGen have the opportunity to be appointed Swedish champion of innovation. As the county finalist, SenzaGen receives a prize worth SEK 25 000 with the option to gain an additional SEK 550 000 (maximum spread over three laureates) if they succeed as winners of the national prize.

"SenzaGen has been able to package advanced research in a transparent, commercial way and have in a short time shown that they will be able to both significantly minimize the number of animal tests being performed and deliver a better accuracy in the tests and hence a better value to their customers. Ian Kimber joins the board of SenzaGen AB

SenzaGen AB, a diagnostic spin-off company from Lund University, is proud to announce that Prof. Ian Kimber will join the Board of Directors.

Prof Ian Kimber is currently Professor of Toxicology and Associate Dean for Business Development in the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Manchester. He has broad research interests at the interface between toxicology and immunology, with a particular focus on allergy and inflammation. Professor Kimber holds, and has held, a variety of positions on national and international expert and scientific advisory committees. Currently these include the following: Member UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Committee for Safety of Devices, Programme Advisor Food Standards Agency Food Allergy and Intolerance Research Programme, and member MRC Translational Research Group. Professor Kimber was previously President of the British Toxicology Society (BTS) (2012-2014), and Chairman of the Board of the UK National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) (2008-2013).

Since our initial studies that led to the development and ultimate validation of the Local Lymph Node Assay I have maintained a keen interest in chemical allergy and in the development of novel approaches for improved hazard identification and risk assessment. The final ceremony for the 33-list was held in Stockholm were the hottest new technology companies in Sweden were presented. The list is presented without ranking but five companies were elected for special attention and SenzaGen was awarded a prize from ALMI, a strategic partner and SenzaGen given investment money for further development of the company.

Hanna Frykman ny marknadskoordinator på SenzaGen

SenzaGen fortsätter sin expansion och bygger upp en marknads- och försäljningsorganisation och i den processen anställer SenzaGen Hanna Frykman som marknadskoordinator. Hanna kommer närmast från Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien där hon arbetade som informationssamordnare och vetenskapssekreterare i ett EU-projekt. Hanna har erfarenhet som kommunikatör och projektledare samt från bolag i startupfas.

SenzaGen fortsätter sin expansion och bygger upp en marknads- och försäljningsorganisation och i den processen anställer SenzaGen Hanna Frykman som marknadskoordinator. Hanna kommer närmast från Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien där hon arbetade som informationssamordnare och vetenskapssekreterare i ett EU-projekt. Hanna har erfarenhet som kommunikatör och projektledare samt från bolag i startupfas. Honligger även bakom kulturprojektet Thomanders Jul i Lund.

– Det känns oerhört spännande att få jobba med ett företag i ett så här tidigt skede och vara med och bygga upp verksamheten från grunden, säger Hanna Frykman.

Hanna börjar på SenzaGen i mars 2015 och kommer att fokusera på att ta fram grafisk profil och arbeta med försäljning och marknadsföring hos SenzaGen.

– Kombinationen naturvetenskap och affärstänk och hennes vana att bygga nätverk var avgörande i rekryteringen av Hanna. Jag ser mycket fram mot att arbeta tillsammans med Hanna, säger Anki Malmborg Hager, VD på SenzaGen
