GARD®potency.

Skin sensitizing potency sub-categorization according to GHS/CLP

Allergic contact dermatitis is the most prevalent form of immunotoxic adverse effects induced by chemicals in consumer products and everyday surroundings. The symptomatic rash is caused by an immune response towards foreign substances in direct contact with the skin.

GARDpotency is an add-on to GARDskin, able to subcategorize sensitizers according to CLP/GHS classifications, by monitoring the expression of ~50 complementary genomic biomarkers.

The new guidelines for REACH registrations of chemicals include CLP categorization of skin sensitizers as Cat 1A for strong sensitizers, Cat 1B for moderate sensitizers and No Cat for non-sensitizers. This is the specific end-point of GARDpotency.
